Working at the highest levels of Government
The Hon Monty House was the Western Australian Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries from 1993 until 2001. During this period, David Beurle worked with the Minister as a senior staff member with responsibility for project and policy development across a range of fields.
From former Cabinet Minister, Hon Monty House... "During my two terms as a Cabinet Minister, David Beurle was one of my senior staff members with responsibility as senior project and policy officer. During this eight year period, David worked on major policy issues, international trade expansion and agricultural industry matters.
Of particular note was the work he did in the area of rural leadership and community economic development. David developed a series of programs, under the banner of Progress Rural Western Australia, that were a catalyst for resurgence in rural communities across our state. The programs were regarded by many as a revolutionary approach to working with rural people and communities, and the benefits are still being reported by many people across the state to this day.
These programs, and David's role, were recognized formally by awards at a State level and by recognition for excellence in 2002 by the International Community Development Society. These programs have attracted national and international recognition and acclaim."
