Innovative Leadership Australia has formed a close strategic alliance with Dr James Fisher, Desiree Futures. Collaborative work to date has included the development and refinement of ‘The Futures Game – Western Australian Wheatbelt’ into a workshop tool; scenario planning work with the Australian Grain industry; and. various regional applications of scenario-based ‘future thinking’.
James Fisher is Principal of Désirée Futures, a private research and consultancy company that focuses on rural communities and industries. James has a Bachelor of Science (agric.) and PhD from The University of Western Australia. He has over twenty years of research experience on various aspects of agricultural systems, with a focus in the past 10 years on modelling and analysing agricultural systems (including budgets of soil acidification), broadening to regional development. Approaches have included building and using computer models of systems and their components (e.g. soil acidity budgeting and simulation models), field research and scenario planning. He is a resident of the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia and has a passionate interest in the development of this area.
