Progress Rural WA
David Beurle, ILA, was responsible for the creation and leadership of Progress Rural WA, a major state based initiative that aimed to stimulate innovation and leadership in rural and regional communities across Western Australia.
The program attracted the following awards;
- Winner of the 2002 International Community Development Society (CDS) award for Superior Innovative Program
- Finalist in the 2000 StateWest Achievement Awards, Western Australia for a special project resulting in ”Outstanding Service to the Community and Significant Efficiency/ Productivity".
Community Progress Initiative, Wisconsin, USA
The Community Progress Initiative is a joint project between the Heart of Wisconsin Business & Economic Alliance and the Community Foundation of South Wood County, Wisconsin USA. This project is a community culture change and revitalization effort, of which David Beurle, ILA has had a key role as consultant and collaborative designer of the initiative.
The program has garnered the following awards and nominations;
- USA Small Business Administration national award for innovation in job creation, March 2005
- National (USA) award from the US Council of Foundations
- Nominated for the 2005 International Community Development Society awards
- Voted Top Rural Development Initiative, Wisconsin, April 2005
CDS Award recognizing profound positive change
In presenting Progress Rural WA with the "Superior Innovative Program" award, the CDS noted that the program had "provided excellent opportunities for individuals …and had been a catalyst for profound positive change for those living in the region and the communities across the state"
